Pourquoi ce projet nous tient-il à coeur ?
En mars 2020, Chantal van Ackere (maman d'Alexia) s'est envolée après un combat courageux mais douloureux contre le cancer. Envahies d'un sentiment d'impuissance face à la dure réalité du cancer et, en mémoire de la maman d'Alexia, nous souhaitons contribuer aux recherches qui entourent le cancer, cette maladie touchant malheureusement des milliers de familles chaque année.

Quel est notre objectif ?
Nous souhaitons relever un défi qui s'annonce difficile et qui nous confontera à nos limites, à savoir rouler à vélo de Bruxelles jusqu'à Rome afin de lever des fonds pour et sensibiliser les gens à la lutte contre le cancer. Au total, nous allons parcourir plus de 2000 km en 12 jours.
Quelque chose à ajouter ?
Nous aimons les défis et nous adorons le vélo, c'est donc avec détermination et un esprit positif que nous abordons ce projet incroyable!
Tout au long de ce trajet nous serons poussées par le courage et la force dont a fait preuve la maman d'Alexia pendant son combat contre le cancer.

Waarom is dit project zo belangrijk voor ons?
In maart 2020 is Chantal van Ackere (de mama van Alexia) overleden na een moedige maar pijnlijke strijd tegen kanker. Overdonderd door een gevoel van hulpeloosheid tegenover de harde realiteit van kanker en ter nagedachtenis van Alexia's moeder willen wij bijdragen aan kankeronderzoek, een ziekte die helaas elk jaar duizenden gezinnen treft.

Wat is ons doel?
Wij willen een uitdaging aangaan die moeilijk zal zijn en waarvoor wij tot het uiterste zullen moeten gaan, namelijk van Brussel naar Rome fietsen om het bewustzijn rondom kanker te vergroten en geld in te zamelen voor de strijd tegen kanker. In totaal zullen we meer dan 2000 km afleggen in 12 dagen.
Nog iets toe te voegen?
We houden van uitdagingen en van fietsen, dus gaan we dit ongelooflijk project vastberaden en positief tegemoet!
Tijdens onze reis zullen we ons laten leiden door de moed en kracht die Alexia's moeder toonde tijdens haar strijd tegen kanker.
Laat het duidelijk zijn, onze reis zal uit moeilijke maar ook onvergetelijke momenten bestaan. Why is this project so important to us ?
In March 2020, after a brave but painful battle with cancer Chantal van Ackere (Alexia’s mother) passed away. Overwhelmed by a feeling of helplessness against the harsh reality of cancer and, in memory of Alexia’s mum, we would like to contribute to cancer research, a disease that unfortunately affects millions of families every year.

What is the aim of this project?
We wanted to take up a challenge that would be hard to fulfill and during which we would have to push our limits to the extreme. Traveling from Brussels to Rome by bike seemed to correspond to the kind of challenge we were looking for to raise money, but also to build awareness of the fight against cancer. In total, we will cycle more than 2000 km across six different countries during 12 days.
Things we would like to add:
We love challenges and we love cycling. This is why we will face this incredible adventure with determination and positiveness.
During our journey we will let us lead by the courage and the strength Alexia’s mum showed during her battle with cancer.
